The government will prioritize marginalized groups when determining the categories of housing projects, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said today.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 'Isravvehinge Naadhee' today, the President said the lack of a proper registry of people in need of assistance in the society poses challenges in providing them with the necessary help.
He said the government would introduce a bill in parliament to provide housing to the elderly and people in need of assistance, as their biggest problem is housing.
He said the government would allow senior citizens to have a say in running the country and would put them on the government's radar.
He further added that if we want to move forward with our own identity, we must care for the elderly and use their voice in running the country.
