Justice Husnu Suood has replaced Justice Aisha Shujoon Mohamed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

JSC is required to have a judge from the Supreme Court bench other than the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Shujoon was appointed as a member of the JSC in December 2019 and her term ends later this year.

The Supreme Court on Monday said it will appoint Justice Suood in place of Justice Shujoon to the JSC, but the reason for the same is not clear.

Justice Suood was also a member of the JSC in 2010 as Attorney General.
