President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the land reclamation in Ungoofaaru will be increased to include three more hectares.

Responding to a question during today's "Raees ge Javaabu" programme, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that he would fulfill his presidential pledges to the dot.

"I have pledged to reclaim land in this island as much as we can. We will add an additional three hectares to the land reclamation programme and as you have pointed out, this would solve land scarcity issues in the island," President Dr. Muizzu said, answering a question.

President Dr. Muizzu had promised during the election campaign that the land in Ungoofaaru would be reclaimed to the maximum extent possible.

In 2021, the previous government handed over the land reclamation work in Ungoofaaru to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
