Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has stated that the record for the highest number of tourist arrivals in a single day has been broken.

Minister Faisal said in a recent post on X that 10,213 tourists will arrive in the Maldives today, which is a new record high for daily arrivals.

"I would like to thank all the stakeholders in the industry for this wonderful achievement," the Minister said.

The highest single-day numbers recorded last week were 8,900 arrivals. The increase in tourist arrivals is due to the increase in tourist arrivals from China and Western Europe.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the largest number of tourists arriving in the Maldives so far this year came from China.
