Maldives National Airline Maldivian has decided to take Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to court over pending payments of MVR 5.6 million.
A Maldivian official told One today that the airline has decided to go to court regarding MVR 5.6 million incurred during the presidential election trips as it had not received the payments yet.
"It's about recovering the money owed and the recovery team is doing it. It's not about MDP or any other party. If there are pending payments we will also have to see if it's recovered," the official said.
The airline's last notice to MDP about going to court over the MVR 5.6 million due for flights made by MDP during the last days of the presidential campaign expires on Sunday next week.
In the past too, cases have been filed in the court for non-payment of travel dues by various parties, including DRP.
