President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings on the occasion of China's New Year.

In a video message to China's Xinhua news, the President said he hoped China's New Year would bring happiness and prosperity to the Chinese people and people around the world.

President Dr. Muizzu has sent Chinese New Year greetings on his own behalf as well as on behalf of the people of Maldives.

President Dr. Muizzu has been working on rebuilding ties with China, and he has made a state visit to China, his third official visit to a foreign country.

During his visit, the President discussed ways to increase China's participation in the development of the Maldives and to increase the number of Chinese tourists coming to the Maldives.

Most of China's citizens travel on Chinese New Year's Eve, and most Chinese tourists have come to the Maldives on the eve of the Chinese New Year.
