President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that connecting Veymandoo Island and Kinbindhoo Island with a causeway would pave way for better higher education opportunities.

The President made the remarks in a video posted by the President's Office social media, answering a question by a student of Kinbidhoo island regarding what the president's plan was to make it possible for the people of Kinbidhoo to pursue higher education by staying in the island after completing class 10.

President Dr. Muizzu said that it is good to be able to stay in the island and study till class 12, but in Kinbidhoo, the facilities and that opportunity are not available at the moment.

"One of the development projects planned is to connect Kinbidhoo and Veymandu through a causeway, and people will be able to travel easily between the island. It will also pave way for better higher education opportunities," President Dr. Muizzu said.

The President also said that efforts would be made to facilitate higher education in Kinbidhoo in other ways as well.

"Whether it is the establishment of a university campus or the opportunities for university education, it will be possible if the population is large," he said.

The President visited Kinbidhoo yesterday and said that he would make the construction of the causeway in the island and Waymandu a reality. He also announced that the island and Veymandoo causeway, as well as Madifushi and Dhiyamigili would also be connected by a causeway.
