President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sent the three re-appointed members of the Cabinet to the Parliament for approval.

The Parliament administration confirmed to One Online that President Dr. Muizzu had sent them to parliament for re-approval.

The re-appointed Cabinet Members are Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Housing Minister Dr Ali Haider Ahmed and Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Of the 72 lawmakers present at the parliament meeting held on January 29 to approve President Dr. Muizzu's cabinet members, only 24 voted to approve Haider and Usham while 46 members voted not to approve Haider. Forty-four members voted not to approve Usham and 30 members voted not to approve Shaheem.

Although the parliament did not approve of the three Cabinet members, President Muizzu reinstated them to their previous positions.

The opposition MDP has been criticising President Dr. Muizzu's actions stating it undermines the reputation of the parliament, and that those who have not been approved by the parliament cannot be reinstated to the same posts.
