K. Maafushi Harbour Development Project is well underway, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said.

MTCC said the second shipment of concrete blocks required for the quay wall construction, have been delivered to the project site.

Scope of work for the project includes a 63,711cbm new harbour basin dredging operations, 28,836cbm maintenance dredging operations, 4,414cbm channel dredging operations, construction of a 31m breakwater, a 680m rock boulder revetment, a 700m geo bag revetment, a 374m quay wall, construction of a concrete jetty, a bridge and installation of 1,869sqm harbour pavement and harbour lights.

The project is valued at MVR 76.48 million.
