President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the current administration will spend on agriculture more than any previous government has.
Delivering his first Presidential address at the opening of the Parliament this year, the President said that one of the top priorities of the government is securing basic food requirements of the country to ensure affordability.
The country's foreign exchange reserves will increase by expanding agriculture and growing enough crops in the Maldives, he said.
“We will hopefully spend on agriculture more than any previous government has to develop agriculture and increase the number of farmers,” he said.
