President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the administration will find researchers for the National Heritage Research Centre and kickstart research programs soon.

Delivering the presidential address at the opening of the Parliament this morning, the President said that work on the national system to restore national heritage has already begun and the National Heritage Research Center has been established.

"The main objective of the Centre is to study the languages related to indigenous identity and pattern them per the local identity in the light of relevant academic frameworks. The work will begin with 10 administrators and 50 field researchers. After the first six months of this, the Centre will start conducting programs to impart patriotic teachings to the employees of all government institutions," he said.

The President said that priority should be given to the children and the students in inculcating the rich culture and traditions of the indigenous people.

"Nationalism will be included in the national curriculum as a separate subject and will be taught in the new academic year. While we have started 2024 to inculcate the habit of starting the school assembly with the national anthem, there is still a lot of work that we have to do to build a patriotic generation. It is imperative that all of us participate in this important national cause," he said.
