Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said S. Hithadhoo Old Harbor Breakwater Construction Project (Phase 2) is well underway.

The final shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction have been delivered to the project site, MTCC said. Dredging and reclamation operations are currently ongoing, with 55% completion.

Scope of work for the project includes 5.88 hectares land reclamation operations, 419m revetment, 270m groyne, 728m quay wall, 5455 sqm harbor pavement, a scour apron, ramp (12m x12m), bridge (10m x 96m).

The project is valued at MVR 130.26 million.
