Maldives will attract 2.3 million tourists by the end of this year if the markets of China and India are maintained, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal said today.
Speaking at the launch of the Maldives Youth Hackathon at the Art Gallery today, Faisal said the target is two million tourists this year but the number is expected to increase.
"We are targeting two million with MMPRC. However, if the Chinese and Indian markets are maintained at the current level, I think we can end 2024 with tourist arrivals at 2.3 million," Faisal said.
Faisal said he hoped that local products such as travel applications like Booking.com and Agoda would be seen at the hackathon.
