MDP has said it will take action against MPs who violated the whipline issued to disapprove some ministers.

The extraordinary session of the Parliament yesterday approved 19 of the 22 cabinet members. The parliament moved to disapprove Islamic Minister Mohamed Shaheem, Attorney General Ahmed Usham, and Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haider. However, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu re-appointed them later the same day.

Before the vote, MDP Parliamentary Group voted against Shaheem, Usham, and Haider. Besides Shaheem, Usham, and Haider, MDP voted against Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed. However, yesterday's session of the parliament passed the approval of Saeed.

MDP Parliamentary Group Leader, Alifushi Constituency Member Mohammed Rasheed Hussain (Bigey) said MDP Parliamentary Group has a rule of procedure that determines how to deal with members who violate party whips.

On the re-appointment of ministers who were not approved, Bigey said he did not see it as doing so within the legal framework and that it would also be discussed in the PG and a decision would be taken.
