Special Advisor to the President, Abdul Raheem Abdulla has said that the President has the power to reappoint the same ministers to their posts even if the Parliament decides not to approve them.

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament over the denial of approval to some ministers in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's cabinet, Abdul Raheem said that not approving the ministers was not a sensible decision.

"The President has the right to appoint the same people to these ministries again. The Parliament cannot really put a stop to it. It is very irresponsible for them to act this way," Abdul Raheem said.

Accusing former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of being the cause of Parliament not approving ministers, he said the decision not to approve would not be sustainable and president Dr. Muizzu's government would win a super majority in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
