The PPM/PNC government will not keep anything secret except in the case of national interest, President Mohammed Muizzu’s Special Advisor Abdul Raheem Abdullah (Adhurey) said on Thursday.

Replying to a question at a press conference held at the PNC office today, Abdul Raheem said PPM/PNC had not come to power to deceive the people. The question was directed around the secrecy of the remuneration and works of the two foreign experts, who are working with the Maldives to recover lost maritime boundary in the case against Mauritius.

He said the government in the event details of anything involving national interest needs to be publicized, the government will not hesitate to do so.

The government will not keep anything secret unless it is in the national interest, he said, though the government has not yet disclosed the alleged agreements with India by the previous governments.

The government has not given much details about the recent decision not to renew the hydrography agreement with India as well.
