Two people were injured in an accident in Addu City last night.

In a post on X, Addu City Police revealed that a 37-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were injured in the accident. The man sustained a head injury while the woman sustained various injuries. The two are being treated at the Addu City Equatorial Hospital.

Rumors on social media claim that the car was being driven by a Police officer, and that the accident scene was interrupted by Police and dispersed. In addition, the rumors claim that the car was unregistered.

In the statement, police said that inaccurate information is being spread on social media. The car and motorcycle involved in the accident were registered vehicles and were driven by people with silencers, police said. The accident was processed per the rules.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
