One person has died from Influenza A H1N1 in Male' City.

IGMH internal medicine doctor Dr. Mohamed Ali revealed in a post on X today, that "A H1N1" has been spreading in the Maldives for weeks. Three people who tested positive for pneumonia are being treated on ventilators, he said.

"One person has died of the disease within 30 days," he said.

Dr. Mohammed Ali said that even if influenza spreads, it will not turn into a pandemic.

To prevent life-threatening influenza, vaccination is important, he said. Aasandha will cover the vaccine that is required to be immune from the virus.
