Adam Azim, who is in the running for Male' Mayorship, has said we should not make a mockery out of India's call to boycott Maldives, adding that it is a regrettable matter.
Speaking at a campaign meeting held by MDP at Dhandikoshi Jagaha last night, Azim said that no one had called for a boycott of the Maldives in the past.
Azim said that the government's actions will destroy the entire economy of the Maldives and that social media and television are constantly talking about boycotting the Maldives. India is asking people not to go to resorts in the Maldives with billions of dollars of investment which is a shame for the Maldives, Azim said.
"This issue has been caused by the Administration's failure. They lied to come to power and they have been humiliating the nation since day one," Azim said.
Azim said the government is not aware of the living conditions of the public, and the government is hurting the country in multiple ways. He added that the citizens should make a difference with vote during the mayoral elections.
