Ali Niyaz, the sitting MP for Hulhumale' has decided to run for Kurendhoo Constituency at the upcoming Parliamentary Election.

In a post on X without giving any reason, Ali Niyaz said he has decided to contest the Kurendhoo constituency for the MDP.

The people of Kurendhoo constituency gave the majority to the MDP candidate in the 18th and current 19th parliaments, he said. He said the 20th parliament will also be elected by the MDP candidate.

The incumbent Abdulgani Abdul Hakeem, who won the seat as an MDP member, has now left the MDP and joined the ruling PNC.
