An amendment to the building regulations in Villimale' allowing 10-storey buildings have been submitted to the Parliament.

Speaking during a campaign rally for Azima in Villimale' this morning, the President stated that he too had many plans for Villimale' during his term as the Mayor. However, none of the plans saw completion due to the lack of cooperation from the government, revealing that one of those were to ammend regulations to allow 10-storey buildings in Villimale'.

The President said he hoped that the rules would be amended through parliament to make buildings ten stories high. He also pointed out that even if fiber works on the island is dangerous to health, hence a space be allotted for those works from Thilafushi.

The President added that although the oil tankers near Villimale could not be removed due to lack of cooperation from the previous government, a solution has now been found. He also said that the development of a 100-bed tertiary hospital in Villamale' has already started.
