President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the feasibility and design work of the bridge between Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo in Addu City will begin soon.
Speaking after inaugurating the second phase of Velana International Airport (VIA) development at a ceremony held at Dharubaaruge last night, President Dr. Muizzu said the government has a plan to develop the entire country.
He there are things he has pledged for Addu Atoll.
"We will soon hand over the technical and detailed feasibility and design work required for the construction of the bridge in Addu City. It will pave the way for preparing all the necessary documents to be completed to get a contractor to pay the cost of the bridge and hand over the work," President Dr. Muizzu said.
The President said that all the works will be carried out as promised during the presidential elections and the construction of infrastructure in other parts of the country will continue at a fast pace.
Thanking the business community for their support in various development initiatives undertaken by the government, the President noted that if all the sectors of the economy work together, things will be achieved and the country will develop.
