Mariyam Fizana Rasheed has been appointed as the CEO of Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA).

The Higher Education Ministry said in a post on X that it welcomed Fizana's appointment. The Ministry also noted that Higher Education Minister Dr. Mariyam Maria had met with her before her appointment.

The meeting was held with the employees of MQA, where the minister also sought the advice of the employees.

MQA's CEO was previously Dr. Abdul Hannan Waheed.

Fizana has previously served as the Director General of the authority. She is the cousin of Urbanco Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed.

She has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Maldives National University.
