President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the government will soon launch a major food conservation project in the Maldives.
Speaking at the 'Feshun' rally organized by PPM/PNC at Dharubaaruge last night, President Dr. Muizzu said that his government would strive to develop the agriculture sector with more priority than ever before.
"We will start a major project in this regard soon. There is a lot of work currently ongoing to bring it to fruition," he said.
President Dr. Muizzu added that given the current state of environment in the world, it is important for the Maldives to do things in a way that protects the environment of the Maldives.
He said the government was ready to provide infrastructure and economic development to the people.
President Dr. Muizzu said the country's debt is now above MVR 20 billion and the government is making several efforts to repay them, adding that these efforts will prove successful.
He added that it is important for everyone to work with the same vision for debt repayment and economic development of the country.
