Four earthquakes have been reported in the Maldives.

The earthquakes occurred near Hithadhoo of Addu City and were reported by Sri Lanka's meteorological agency. However, there has been no immediate comment from the Maldives Meteorological Services.

The first quake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. The second quake struck with a magnitude of 5.2, followed by a third quake of magnitude 5.8. The fourth was a magnitude 5 earthquake as per the reports.

The reports stated that the first two earthquakes occurred at a depth of 10 km while the strongest earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.7 km.
