Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Aslam has said that if the committee submits the report on ministerial approval to the floor and if the members request, an extraordinary session of the parliament will be held to approve the ministers.
According to the rules of the parliament, the third session of the parliament will run from August 16 to November. It goes on leave for the third term of the current year after the government passes the budget for the coming year.
However, today's session was held after extending the third session for a third time.
Parliament initially approved extending the sessions of the third session of this year until the 7th of this month to pass the budget and approve the ministers. However, after passing the budget that day, the parliament decided to hold a session on the 18th of this month to approve the ministers.
However, the report of the Government Responsibility Committee of the Parliament on the issue of approval of the ministers was referred back to the committee to rectify the issue. However, the committee did not send the matter to the Parliament due to lack of quorum.
The committee chairman said the committee is not expected to decide on the issue of approval of the ministers in Parliament today.
However, the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammed Aslam, said that the Parliament would go on leave from today but the committee would decide on the issue of approval of the ministers and send it to the Parliament.
