A special centre for mental health care has been set up at Villa College.

The centre opened by Villa College yesterday is the first such centre set up in a higher education college in the maldives. The centre is called the 'VCare Counselling and Psychotherapy Center'. The center was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Rector of Villa College.

The centre will function from 0900hrs to 2100hrs on all non-official days.

According to a study conducted by the VCARE Center, one in eight people in the world struggles with mental health, and the VCARE Counseling and Psychotherapy Center believes that holistic mental health care is captured by every individual working in the center's clinic with compassion, empathy, and understanding.

According to Villa College, the centre will provide psycho-social support, counselling, psychotherapy and psychological assessment services, besides allowing students pursuing bachelor's in psychology and masters of science (counselling) at Villa College to complete their internship as academic and professional experience.

According to Villa College, the reasons for visiting and seeking treatment at the centre include compassionate care, an experienced and scholarly team of professionals working at the centre, paying attention to the details given by patients, paying attention to the satisfaction of the client, providing various therapeutic services, and high costs at a competitive price.
