Maldivian has commenced seaplane operations to B. Fulhadhoo.
In a post posted on X today, Maldivian said that scheduled seaplane services to Fulhadhoo have commenced today and will take place every Sunday and Thursday, adding that this will expand tourism in the region and allow tourists to enjoy a different experience.
Maldivian is expanding seaplane operation to B. Fulhadhoo to support the booming tourism sector in Baa Atoll.
Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Island Aviation Services, said yesterday that he was delighted to start seaplane operations to Fulhadoo and that the initiative reflected Maldivian's commitment to attract more people to tourism and more people to visit these destinations.
"Travelling by seaplane will bring a completely different experience from other transportation systems. It's a privilege for us to generate interest and bring in a different experience," Iyas said.
Maldivian has conducted seaplane trips to Fulhadhoo during this year's Eid holidays, operating for four days. B. Fulhadhoo, Fehendhoo and Goidhoo are also emerging islands in local tourism.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had pledged to start seaplane services in Goidhoo, Fulhadhoo and Fehendhoo.
Baa Atoll is also home to the country's famous Manta Point, Hannifaru Bay.
