President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with Jumhooree Party leader Qasim Ibrahim, leader of Maldives Development Alliance Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed, and leader of Maldives National Party Mohamed Nazim.

Chief Spokesperson at President's Office Mohamed Shaheeb confirmed this to 'One' but did not disclose any details of the meetings.

President Dr. Muizzu's meeting with them comes at a time when the government is trying to negotiate with other parties to ensure that the government gets a majority in parliament in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Expressing concern over the Parliament's committee to increase the salaries of the President, Vice President and Members of Parliament, President Dr. Muizzu today announced that he would donate the approved portion of the salary hike to a social fund such as the children's home.
