A powerful earthquake that hit Philippines has left five dead and several others injured.

The earthquake hit Philippines at 5:11pm local time. Reports from South East Asia confirm the death of five so far, while the exact number of injured people are yet to be estimated.

CNN Philippines report that about 52 aftershocks have been felt across the country following the earthquake.

Clark International Airport in Philippines has also suspended their operations for the next 24 hours to assess the damages during the earthquake.
