Former MP from Hulhuhenweru constituency Moosa Manik (Riko Moosa) has announced his decision to contest from L. Maavashu constituency on a MDP ticket.

In a post on X today, Moosa said that he has decided to contest in MDP primaries for the parliamentary seat from L. Maavah constituency and hoped to work in the 20th parliament.

Moosa, who was also the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, was first elected to the Parliament in 2004 as a member of the 18th Parliament.

He announced that he would be contesting from L. Gan constituency in the ongoing 19th Parliament. However he later decided not to contest from the constituency. Former RaajjeTV journalist Mohamed Visam won the L. Gan constituency and is currently representing the constituency on an MDP ticket.
