The construction of 4,000 housing units being constructed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has will completed at a fast pace and special priority is being given to hand over the flats to the people who got the flats, FDC has said
At a function held at Amaan Dhoadhi Tower 16 yesterday evening to formally launch the experience units of Amaan Dhoadhi, the new Managing Director of FDC Hamdan Shakeel spoke about the work of 4,000 housing units allotted under the 'Gedhoruveriya' scheme.
Shakeel said special priority has been given to complete the 4,000 housing units handed over to the FDC and the process of completing the work will be completed at the earliest and the process of handing over the flats to the deserving will continue.
A total of 4,000 flats are being constructed in Hulhumale' Phase II under the 'Gedhoruveriya' scheme of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government. The FDC has awarded the work to JMC and NBCC of India.
While the previous government had announced the list of beneficiaries, the Anti-Corruption Commission had on November 16 ordered the civic body to stop the process. Hence, the process of handing over the flats is still on hold as the ACC is investigating the matter.
Regarding the 'Amaan Dhoadhi' experience units launched yesterday, the FDC said that the purpose of opening these units to the public is to show the public the various ways in which modern houses can be designed before handing over the flats and the company attaches great importance to providing sustainable social housing at affordable prices.
The Amaan Dhoadhi Experience Units, which were formally inaugurated yesterday, are being developed into 16 towers, comprising 600 units of 650 sq ft of two rooms and 1,400 housing units of 900 sq ft of three rooms.
The Amaan Dhoadhi Experience Units are located on the second floor of Dhodhi Tower 16 as part of the FDC-NBCC housing project, which can be booked through the FDC's Experience Unit Booking Portal.
