Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has conducted a safety drill at Hithadhoo Regional Port in Addu City.
MPL's CEO Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim visited Hithadhoo Regional Port to observe the emergency evacuation drill held at Hithadhoo Regional Port. This is his first visit to hithadhoo regional port since he took over as CEO. Senior management of MPL accompanied him during the visit.
MPL said that during his visit to Hithadhoo Port, Wajeeh reviewed the progress of the works and sought information about the condition of the port, and met with the staff of Hithadhoo Port, listened to their discussions and discussed ways to improve the work of Hithadhoo Port.
The drill at Hithadhoo Regional Port was part of the company's ongoing efforts to improve safety and emergency preparedness at MPL ports, the company said in a statement.
The drill was conducted jointly by MPL's Health and Safety Department, MNDF and Addu Equatorial Hospital, and certificates were issued to all participants.
The Health Safety and Environment Unit established at Hithadhoo Port was also formally inaugurated during Wajeeh's visit, which was set up to enhance the safety and security of Hithadhoo Regional Port.
