Brigadier General Ibrahim Hilmy has been appointed as the Vice Chief of Defense Force.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has posted on its X account that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Hilmy as the Vice Chief of Defense Force today.

The last Vice Chief of Defense Force was currrent Chief of Defense Force Abdul Raheem Abdul Latif. The post became vacant after President Muizzu appointed him as the Chief of Defense Force.

The Chief of Defense Force and the Vice Chief of Defense Force are appointed by the President.
