President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fathimath Inaya as the Foreign Secretary of Maldives on Tuesday morning.

She was presented with her letter of appointment at a ceremony held at the President's Office. This marks the first time in the country's history where a woman has been appointed as the Foreign Secretary.

Fathimath Inaya formerly worked as a deputy minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was appointed foreign secretary at the position of Minister of State.
