Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, Shidhatha Shareef, has said that a female Speaker or Deputy Speaker at the 19th People’s Parliament would set an example to the world.

Taking to Twitter this morning, Minister Shidhatha said that wants success to the both of the MPs who have announced interest for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

MP for Meedhoo constituency, Rozaina Adam has announced her interest to be the Speaker of the Parliament while the MP for North Galolhu constituency, Eva Abdulla has been campaigning to become the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
