Former MP Alhan Fahmy has decided to contest for the Kaashidhoo constituency of the Parliament.

Alhan said in a post on X today that he will contest the Kaashidhoo constituency on his own.

“I would like to ask for the cooperation and support of the people of Kaashidhoo constituency,” Alhan said.

Alhan had previously also announced that he will contest for the post of MDP President.

Alhan entered politics from the DRP. He was first elected to parliament on the DRP ticket.

After leaving the DRP, he joined the MDP and was elected as the party's president on May 1, However, on April 30, 2012, Alhan was removed from the post of MDP President.

Alhan has joined the JP after being sacked as MDP president. After leaving the JP, Alhan signed up for the PPM. He is now a member of the MDP.

Alhan last contested the 2020 council elections for the post of Mayor of the city. Alhan received the lowest number of votes among the candidates.

While Alhan has decided to contest the parliamentary elections, he has also been charged in the Ponzi scheme case.
