Housing, Land and Urban Development Minister Ali Haider Ahmed has sought a deadline for the completion of The Hiyaa Flat has been summoned to the Parliament for questioning.

The information was sought by MP Ali Niyaz. He asked the minister how he planned to pay MVR 200,000 to the owners of the Hiyaa flats as the cost of the finish.

MP Niyaz filed the application for questioning after Urbanco's Managing Director Fazul Rasheed assured the government will compensate the residents for the finishing works of the flats. Fazul made the statement after media reports stated that the government has decided not to compensate the residents.

The Hiyaa flats were handed over to the residents by the previous administration before the finishing works on the apartments were completed
