Turkey will offer 30 more scholarships to the Maldives from next year, President Dr Mohammed Muizzu said.'

The President, who is currently on an official visit to Turkey, met with Maldivians living in the country yesterday.

During the meeting, the Maldivians living in Turkey shared with the President their needs for government assistance and the challenges they face in the country. They shared the challenges of not having a Maldivian Embassy in Turkey and the current standards for withdrawals from Bank of Maldives accounts abroad.

In addition, those who are in the country to complete various trainings, shared the challenges they face in returning to the Maldives on vacation. They also asked for more training and scholarship opportunities.

During the meeting, the President said that he would discuss the necessary steps to establish a Maldivian Embassy in Turkey and that BML is working to find a solution to the card limit.

After a meeting with Turkish officials yesterday, they assured him that 30 scholarship opportunities would be given to the Maldives from next year. These opportunities will be opened in January, he said, adding that Turkish officials have said that these opportunities will be opened in January.

The President further said that he will work to solve the challenges faced by all children studying abroad and will work to facilitate them in consultation with the relevant authorities. The President said the government will provide full support to all children studying abroad.
