The Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has said that the case is being investigated after President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom visited the People’s National Front (PNF) office tonight.

The former President visited the office on the third floor of H. Hurafaage while filling up the forms required to form the PNF were ongoing there.

Former minister Mohammed Maleeh Jamal, who is in charge of forming the PNF, also shared a photo of Yameen sitting at the PNF office in a post on X.

A corrections official told One Online last night that the necessary steps would be taken after investigating the matter.

Yameen is still serving a prison sentence. He was transferred to his home on August 1 last year. The corrections have since lifted several restrictions on his house arrest.

However, Yameen has conducted political activities with the concessions. He has previously visited the PPM office and held meetings and rallies.

Yameen resigned from the PPM on Thursday night after being dissatisfied with the leadership's decisions.
