President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu constituted the new Police Board on Thursday, per Section 75(a) of the Police Service Act (Law No. 34/2020).

Ahmed Shareef was appointed Chairperson of the Police Board by President Dr. Muizzu.

The board comprises the following members:

  • Ahmed Shareef - Appointed by the President
  • Aishath Noora Mohamed - Appointed by the President
  • Uz Ali Naseer Gasim - Professional from a technical field
  • Ahmed Azeem - Professional from a technical field
  • Ahmed Saudhy – Professional from a technical field
  • Hamid Abdul Ghafoor - Selected from the general public
  • Uza Safa Shareef - Selected from the general public
