President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that he will be in Dubai to attend this year's international environmental conference, COP28.
The president announced his visit to Dubai to attend this year's COP summit, which will be held from 30 November to December 12, at a ceremony held at Hotel Jen last night to mark the United Arab Emirates' 52nd Union Day.
Speaking at the event, the President said that this year's COP meeting is important for developing small island nations like the Maldives and it should be ensured that the 'loss and damage fund' can be utilised and good results can be achieved in the 'global stock take' taken for the first time.
He said efforts should be made to unite everyone to save and save the world's soil.
The President said the Maldives would extend full support to the UAE in ensuring the success of COP28.
