Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu wants to rebrand the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
Speaking at a press conference held by the Visitor Economic Council at the President's Office today, Minister Faisal said that as soon as a managing director is appointed to MMPRC, the work will start and move forward in full swing.
The Minister said that instead of focusing solely on existing markets, they would try to find more markets and only then the number of tourists coming to the Maldives could be increased. The Minister did not elaborate on further efforts to rebrand MMPRC.
The Visitor Economic Council has been established by President Dr. Muizzu to expand and promote tourism in the Maldives. The Council will continue to expand and promote various types of tourism such as leisure tourism, health tourism, education tourism, and transportation tourism in the Maldives. Public Policy Under Secretary at the office Mohammad Firzul said at the meeting.
