President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed members to top government positions.

The ceremony to present the letters of appointment was held at the President’s Office on Sunday evening.

Iqbal Adam was appointed Minister at Presidential Palace while Mohamed Hussain Shareef was appointed Ambassador-at-large at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Mahmood Shaugy was appointed Chancellor at the Maldives National University (MNU) while Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam was appointed Vice Chancellor at MNU and Dr. Ali Zahir as Vice Chancellor at Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

Additionally, Mohamed Waheed Hassan was appointed Chief of Staff at Vice President's Residence and Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath was appointed Head of National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT). Mohamed Sham'aan Waheed was appointed Controller General of Immigration.
