Former Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has sent a letter to the incumbent Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer wishing him success.

Shahid said in an interview today that he left the office of the Foreign Ministry after placing a welcome letter on the table. Shahid also shared the letter on Twitter.

Shahid's letter said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a long history of 90 years. The Foreign Ministry is the ministry responsible for protecting the highest interests of the Maldivian State and implementing the foreign policy of the President.

At the same time, he considers Zameer as highly capable and equally experienced for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, which is now operating under the aegis of a separate law, which has a long history of established norms and international diplomatic rules and regulations.

In addition, Shahid's letter said that the current employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are professional, capable, active and sincere employees who have assisted him in his work over the past five years.

He believes that if there has been any progress in the foreign sector, it has been because of the existing employees.

The letter said that under the leadership and guidance of Zameer, Team Foreign will continue to shine the name of the Maldives and wish him always security, prosperity, success, prosperity, good health and happiness.
