President-elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu's first 100 days in office include the introduction of a MVR 100 million start-up loan for women to start a business.
A special event was held at Dharubaaruge last night to announce the Dr. Muizzu government's 100-day pledge "Haftha 14". Dr. Muizzu set a target of fulfilling 172 promises in the first 14 weeks of his presidency, including the introduction of a Rs 100-crore loan for women as a promise to be fulfilled in week 14.
In addition to startup loans, Dr. Muizzu pledged to increase women to key positions in state and state-owned companies, a promise to be fulfilled on the first day of his presidency, and a promise fulfilled in the ninth week of office includes working closely with various stakeholders to increase women's participation in parliament.
The amendment to the legal framework to ensure a safe and equitable working environment for women employees has been included as a promise to be fulfilled in the 14th week.
Dr. Muizzu's government plans to complete in its ninth week by declaring a special area for the sale of women-made products in Hulhumale' and making it easier to do business.
