President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that he will try to set a certain percentage for the media in next year's budget.
Dr. Muizzu told reporters at the Social Center yesterday that the newly formed government will answer the questions of journalists and will not hide anything.
Funding newspapers from the state budget was a presidential promise of Dr. Muizzu as well.
Dr. Muizzu said yesterday that he would work to fulfill that promise and would propose to do so during the budget phase.
Muizzu said the media would be paid according to a rule and such a rule would be formulated.
In addition, Muizzu said he would establish a media village to solve the problem of running media offices at high rents.
