Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has said that ideologies are not things that could be killed.

Adeeb along with former MMPRC Managing Director Abdulla Ziyath were pardoned by the President under the clemency act yesterday. They both were serving jail terms for their roles in the MMPRC Corruption Scandal.

After being pardoned, Adeeb had visited the office of Maldives Thirdway Democrats (MTD), the political party that he had formed.

Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Adeeb stated that ideologies cannot be killed and that they only grow and expand.

Adeeb was sentenced to 20 years in jaul under a plea deal with the state. However, he was serving the sentence at home.
