Six candidates have applied for the post of High Court Judges.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) opened the vacancy for high court judges on November 5, which expired at 11 am today.

Candidates who had applied for high court judges at the end of the deadline are as follows:

  • Abdullah Salam, Miskiydhoshuge, G.A. Gemanafushi
  • Rusdullah Ibrahim, Jawahirumaage, B. Maalhos
  • Ahmed Naushad, Hudhuvilaage, S. Meedhoo
  • Ali Naseer, Garden Village, B. Kihadhoo
  • Mariam Nihayat, M. Taj, Male'
  • Dr. Abdul Maniu Hussain, Anbareege, HA. Ihavandhoo.

The post of high court judge became vacant after justice Ahmed Shakil retired from service. JSC decided to retire him after he applied for retirement due to a heart ailment.
