Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has called for urgent action to ease the sufferings of the Palestinian people.
Speaking as a special representative of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the Joint Arab Islamic Extra Ordinary Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia yesterday, Shahid stressed the need for urgent action to ease the sufferings of the Palestinian people.
Shahid strongly condemned Israel's military attacks on Palestinian civilians, saying the fighting should be stopped immediately, and urged them to cooperate to ensure that essentials such as food and medicine enter Gaza safely as the humanitarian situation worsens.
Shahid also called on the international community to press for an end to the atrocities committed against the people of Gaza in violation of international humanitarian law.
The summit was held to discuss Israel's brutal attacks on Palestinians.
More than 11,000 people, including thousands of children, have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza.
